GUC Participates in TNB Conference to Celebrate Its 20th Anniv.

The German University in Cairo (GUC), headed by Ashraf Mansour, will participate in the "Transnational Higher Education" conference in Berlin, on May 17 and 18, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of establishing the first cross-border universities.

The conference is under the auspices of the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD and the Ministry of Federal German Higher Education BMBF.

The opening session of the conference is scheduled to be held under the title "Cross-Border Universities... 20 Years of Sucess", with the participation of Vito Ciceri, the Head of the Higher Education Department and Scientific Research Policies of the German Foreign Ministry, Joybrato Mukherjee, the President of the German Academic Exchange Service, Peter Greisler, a representative of the Federal Ministry of Higher Education and German Scientific Research, and Marieke Ehlers, a representative of the Conference of German Universities.

The second session of the conference will be held under the title "Transnational Education and Scientific Research", which will discuss joint cooperation in the fields of scientific research between transactional universities and distinguished research centers.

The second day of the conference includes a special dialogue with Dr. Mansour who will review the success story of the first and largest German university outside Germany's borders.

The second session will discuss a group of topics including the role of the German University in the fields of scientific research, economics, and politics.

It will discuss also the role of the German university as a center for science and scientific research across nations, the university as an economic, industrial, and technological forum across nations, and a center for civil and political communication across nations, in addition to considering the university's role as a gateway to the labor market worldwide.
