Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has announced his official lineup for Saturday’s Premier League showdown against Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad Stadium, with Egyptian international Omar Marmoush handed his first start of the season.

The highly anticipated clash is part of the second round of the Premier League. The match will be broadcast exclusively across the Middle East and North Africa on beIN Sports.

This fixture is considered the highlight of the round, as City aim to continue their strong start and maintain an early lead at the top of the table. Tottenham, meanwhile, will be looking for a positive result to assert themselves as genuine title contenders this season.

Manchester City starting XI:

Goalkeeper: James Trafford

Defenders: Rico Lewis – John Stones – Rúben Dias – Rayan Aït-Nouri

Midfielders: Tijjani Reijnders – Nico González – Oscar Bobb

Forwards: Rayan Cherki – Omar Marmoush – Erling Haaland

Tottenham Hotspur starting XI:

Goalkeeper: Guglielmo Vicario

Defenders: Pedro Porro – Cristian Romero – Brennan Johnson – Micky van de Ven – Djed Spence

Midfielders: João Palhinha – Pape Sarr – Rodrigo Bentancur

Forwards: Richarlison – Mohammed Kudus

City head into the encounter full of confidence after a dominant 4-0 victory over Wolverhampton in their opening match. Erling Haaland scored twice, with Reijnders and Cherki also getting on the scoresheet. Guardiola will be eager to build on that momentum as City look to reclaim the Premier League crown that slipped from their grasp last season.

Tottenham, on the other hand, also began their campaign on a high note with a 3-0 win over Burnley. Their new manager will be aiming to make a statement with a historic result at the Etihad, which could provide a huge boost in their quest to challenge for the title.

For Marmoush, today marks a significant opportunity. After making a substitute appearance in the opening match, the Egyptian forward earns his first start for City in the league. He is still searching for his first goal since May and will look to seize the chance, benefiting from Guardiola’s faith in him and the prospect of lining up alongside attacking stars such as Haaland and Cherki.

The match also serves as an important test for Marmoush, who is determined to prove his worth in Guardiola’s squad and establish himself as a regular starter this season.
