Coronavirus restrictions in Greece have been extended by one week, the Health Ministry announced on Wednesday.

The restrictions have been put into effect on January 3 to stem the spread of the coronavirus. The measures are expected to be lifted on January 23 instead of January 16.

The ministry made the announcement following the recommendations of the country’s health committee.

The restrictions include closing all entertainment venues at midnight. The venues are open only for vaccinated customers who must be seated. A maximum of 6 people may sit at a table.

Citizens will have to wear increased protection masks or double masks in supermarkets and public transport.
