On Sunday, Al Azhar Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb gifted President Abdel-Fattah El-Sis a copy of the Holy Quran from Al Azhar.
The Grand Imam met with the president during a celebration, organized by the ministry of endowments, on the occasion of the Prophet’s birthday “Mawlid al-Nabawi”, according to reports.
During the celebration, Sisi honoured a group of scholars and clerics inside and outside the country, in appreciation of their tangible efforts in spreading moderation and correcting misconceptions as well as their efforts to enrich the Islamic library through their books.
On Friday, Sisi inspected the development work of the new axes and roads network, currently being implemented in Greater Cairo, including the axes linking East Cairo (El-Shaheed and Jehan El-Sadat, Mithaq and Shinto Abe) to New Cairo, and the New Capital.
The president also followed up on the implementation rates of the “Samir Ghanem” axis, which links Shenzo Abe and Naguib Mahfouz axis in New Cairo.
