Grand Egyptian Museum 1st to Be Granted ISO Certificate

Antiquities Restoration Center in the Grand Egyptian Museum will be granted on Sunday the International Organization for Standardization Certificate for the Occupational Safety and Health Management System ISO 45001: 2018, coinciding with the celebrations of the International Day for Tourism.

It is scheduled that Engineer Hany El Dessouki, Executive Director of the National Council for Accreditation, will hand over the ISO certificate to Major General Engineer Atef Moftah, General Supervisor of the Grand Egyptian Museum and the surrounding area.

This is the first time an ISO certificate is granted to a museum at the level of Egyptian and international museums; it is for 3 consecutive years to be renewed annually to monitor performance and appliance of safety and health standards.

The (ISO45001: 2018) is considered one of the most important international standards certificates in the field of occupational safety and health.

It is worth noting that the ISO certificate (ISO45001: 2018) applies many terms such as: the methodology of the institution or museum in safety measures, occupational sanity, planning and performance evaluation, continuous improvement, and risk management.

Moreover, the application of the requirements of international standards for the occupational safety and health management system contributes to increasing organizational flexibility by proactively preventing risks, stimulating innovation, continuous improvement of all activities of the Antiquities Restoration Center at the Grand Egyptian Museum, as well as enhancing the compatibility of all different operations and activities with relevant legislation and laws.

Antiquities Restoration Center in the Grand Egyptian Museum design complies with the highest standards of occupational health and environmental safety measures, and contains many protection methods against fire and explosions at work sites, and all workers are trained to use them efficiently.

Therefore, the Grand Egyptian Museum will have the highest safety and security standards; which will consequently reflect on the safety of visitors and workers in the Grand Egyptian Museum.
