Those projects include upgrading a section that extends to 4.5 km, of Al Salam  Road in Sharm El Sheikh ( which is also famed as the city of peace).

That project is a part of the bigger one to develop the area of Neema Bay.

GUC cooperates with South Sinai governorate within the presidential commission to the university.

Sharm El Sheikh will be among the best environmental tourist destination in the world.

It will house an international center to host conferences, shows, and festivals.

Dr. Kornelia Redicker, assistant professor of Architectural Program and supervisor on graduates’ projects, said that they suggested converting the four lanes of Al Salam Road into a tourist alley and a pleasure to the citizens.

The area will be clear of vehicles; it will be covered by lawns and a new modern irrigation system will be laid on there.

Visitors and residents of the city will enjoy the atmosphere there along with shadowed areas.

Some projects of the graduates offer ideas to use open areas to design lanes for bicycles and sports.

Separate spaces will be allotted to various commercial and entertainment activities to secure the visitors.

Also artificial lagoons, dancing fountains and festival plazas will be created there.

The envisioned projects will use local suitable materials for building and modern methods to collect waste and refuse.

Dr. Kornelia added that she accompanied a host of professors and students to field tour in Sharm El Sheikh last September to inspect the area allotted to carry out those projects.

The delegation met with Maj. Gen. Khalid Fouda, Governor of South Sinai who praised the professors and students for choosing that place to develop it.

The chosen area converges the center of the city so it will be a destination for tourists of various nationalities, he said.

The governor explained that the flourishing of tourism in the city supports its blooming of it across Egypt.

Tourism is a source of hard currency to all without exception.

The judging panel of the projects of the graduates comprised Maj. Gen. Mahmud Al Sollyyah, governor of Sharm El Sheikh City, Miss Enas Samir, Assistant Governor of South Sinai governorate and  Eng. Karam Mouaodd, Chairman of Spine Company.

The delegation of GUC also comprised a number of assistants- professors.
