Google is expected to launch version 110 of the Chrome browser on 7 February 2023, which will be the last one to support the two older Microsoft operating systems for PCs—Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.

Halting support for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users aligns with Microsoft’s decision to end support for these two operating systems starting from 10 January 2023.

An older version of Google Chrome will be available on these operating systems which will not receive the updates released for users and can put them at multiple risks.

Meanwhile, PCs running Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 will be able to access Google Chrome after 2023 with version 110.

However, this version will not get any security updates like version updates from next year. Using Google Chrome without security and version updates entails the risk of cybercrime.

Following Microsoft's lead, Google has also advised users to upgrade their Windows versions of the system running one of these older operating systems. This will help users receive security updates for their operating systems and also access the latest Chrome features and security improvements.
