Google-owned YouTube is testing new feature lets users shop directly from videos in a new e-commerce push, You Tube firm reported on Friday. The feature is currently being tested by the video-streaming platform with a small number of users in the US on Android, iOS, and the Web.
Meanwhile, the viewers will be able to see a list of featured products by clicking on the shopping bag icon that will appear in the bottom left corner of some video. From here, they can explore each product's page, where they will find more information, related videos, and options to purchase the product.
On other hand, the creators can already add links to prices in the video description but that doesn’t get much CTR. This feature also redirects users to third-party pages. The new feature will let users sell their products on YouTube itself and also bring a new way for creators and YouTube to earn.
On October 2020, YouTube asked its creators to tag and track products features in their videos, which was supposed to be linked to shopping tools from Google. A Bloomberg report suggested that the search giant Google is planning to sell products directly from YouTube, rather than advertising them on other sites.
