Some good Samaritans in Heliopolis protected stray dogs by giving them shelter from the cold weather with a wooden house that was built by youth in the area for this very purpose.

The residents had given shelter to a pregnant dog called sokar (sugar), and her seven puppies.

The kind-hearted gesture had moved an animal lover woman called Emy Hassan, who recounted the story on animal welfare pages on Facebook.

“Do you remember the beautiful house that I posted about before? The one that I told you that it was built then, by one of the residents in my area to shelter cats and dogs from the rain,” she said.

Hassan added: “a lot of people told me that it would be stolen, but praise to God, the house is still there, and the most beautiful thing is that a new guest has taken residence it,”

“She suddenly appeared on the street. She was pregnant, and amazingly when she entered the street for the first time, she ran in the house and gave birth the following day,” she continued.

“The strange thing is that the dogs in the street did not approach her, even though they did not allow any dog to approach the area.”

Hassan recounted that one of the shop owners in the area had moved the house from to the middle of the sidewalk to its end after the puppies had grown up and began to explore, in order not to hinder the people walking on the sidewalk, as well as to protect the puppies from the cars.

“Then, they built afterward a wall of bricks around the house to protect the small pups 😍😍,” she added.

Talking about the post on an Interview with nogoum FM radio station, she revealed that the house was owned by someone and was not using it, so they took it from him, put it on the street in a safe corner, and provided food and drinks for the stray animals.

Hassan explained that the neighborhood has become united in this initiative and everyone brings food to dogs without being asked to
