Everton have confirmed that their midfielder Andre Gomes has undergone successful surgery on his ankle after he suffered an injury against Tottenham on Sunday.
Gomes suffered the horrific ankle injury after being hacked by Son Heung-min and falling awkwardly into Serge Aurier.
On their part, the British club confirmed his recovery stating to provide Gomes's updates.
"Everton Football Club can confirm Andre Gomes underwent surgery to repair a fracture-dislocation to his right ankle earlier today and the procedure went extremely well," the statement read, according to Everton's official website.
The statement also added that the 26-year-old would stay in the hospital for some time to complete his recovery.

"The Portugal international, who sustained the injury in yesterday’s Premier League fixture with Tottenham Hotspur, will now spend some time recovering in hospital, before returning to USM Finch Farm to start his rehabilitation under the guidance of the Club’s medical staff," it explained.
Noteworthy, Tosun’s 98-minute late goal held Tottenham to a 1-1 draw as the Spurs failed to secure their fourth win in the Premier League versus Everton.

Everton now came in the seventeenth spot with only eleven points as they will take on Southampton at the same day.
