Gold prices increased in the local markets during trading today, Thursday, with a slight decline in ounces on the global stock exchange.
This came amid the markets’ anticipation of the US Federal Reserve meeting to determine the interest rates during the next May meeting.
Saeed Imbaby, executive director of the “iSagha” platform for gold and jewelry online trading, said that gold prices witnessed an increased by EGP 15 in the local markets during today’s trading, as a gram of 21 karat gold recorded EGP 2700, while an ounce rose to $1983.
He added that a gram of 24 karat gold recorded EGP 3086, a gram of 18 karat gold recorded about EGP 2314 , a gram of 14 karat gold recorded about EGP 1800, and a pound of gold recorded about EGP 21.600.
