Chief of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service (GIS) Abbas Kamel paid a visit to Ramallah Sunday.
During the visit, Kamel conveyed a message from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas.
In the message, Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s firm stance towards the need to reach a just solution to the Palestinian cause and its keenness on intensifying efforts to render the country’s elections successful.
The Palestinian president reviewed the latest developments in the Palestinian arena, including the decree for setting the date of the upcoming elections.
He extended thanks to President Sisi for his efforts in support of the Palestinian cause.
Egypt’s GIS chief also met with his Jordanian and Palestinian counterparts and discussed ways to push forward the peace process and steps needed to complete the Palestinian reconciliation process.
