A girl in India called off her Wedding in the last minute after the groom failed to read newspaper without glasses.
The bizarre incident occurred in Auraiya district of UP, when the Indian girl refused to marry the groom on the wedding day after he was unable to read anything without his glasses on.
“My parents were deceived, they did not tell us about the weak eye sight of the boy, I have called off the wedding because he cannot do anything without glasses,” bride Archana told ANI.
The strange incident occurred last Friday, after the bride Archana and her family doubted the sight of the groom Shivam after they saw him before the arranged wedding wearing glasses.
The bride's family decided to make a test for the groom, asking him to read a newspaper without wearing glasses, but it turned out that he could not read anything without putting his glasses on, so the bride's family unanimously refused to complete the wedding, as they were not aware of the poor eyesight of the groom.
The matter did not end there, as the bride's family demanded the return of the dowry they had paid to the groom, including a motorcycle, as well as the expenses they incurred in arranging the marriage.
When Shivam's family refused, the bride's family filed a complaint with the local police station. The police tried to deal with the matter amicably, but could not, because the groom's family did not want to reach an agreement.
