Romanian football legend Gheorghe Hagi has returned to the spotlight after being appointed head coach of the Romania national football team, marking his comeback to the role 25 years after his first spell in charge.
In recent years, Hagi has built a notable football project within Romania, founding Viitorul Constanța, which rose through the ranks to reach the top division.
The club later merged with Farul Constanța, becoming one of the prominent sides in Romanian football.
Hagi managed the team for more than a decade, leading it to significant achievements, including winning the Liga I title and securing additional domestic trophies.
These accomplishments strengthened his reputation as one of the leading coaches in modern Romanian football.
The Romanian Football Federation is now counting on Hagi’s extensive experience, both as a player and a coach, to revive the national team’s fortunes.
Expectations are high that he can guide Romania back to competitiveness on the European and international stage.
