Early Saturday, WWE organized its highly anticipated WWE Draft for 2024. This edition of draft was anticipated by the fans as it is the first in the new WWE era after the end of the PG Era.
16 picks were announced during the latest WWE Friday Night SmackDown. The first round was announced by WWE Hall of Famer and WWE Official Triple H, and the face of the WWE's new era and the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. The second round was announced by WWE Hall of Famers Michelle McCool and Torri Wilson. The third round was announced by WWE Hall of Famers the Duddly Boyz. The final round was announced by WWE Hall of Famer JBL, and historical SmackDown GM Teddy Long. Finally, additional picks were announced on social media after the show.
Roman Reigns was pushed out from the draft, while Cody Rhodes moved directly to SmackDown after capturing the undisputed title.
It was previously announced that the title holders will be protected from the draft, except the WWE Women's Tag Team champions who have the right to appear in both Raw and SmackDown.
Only 2 NXT stars were called up to the main roaster: Carmelo Hayes, and Kiana James.
The final night of the draft will take place in the next WWE Monday Night Raw.
