The Seattle Seahawks claimed their second Super Bowl title on Sunday, defeating the New England Patriots 29–13 in Super Bowl 2026 and lifting the Vince Lombardi Trophy after a defense-driven contest that came alive late.

The game was tightly contested for three quarters, dominated by strong defensive performances, particularly from Seattle. The Seahawks entered the fourth quarter with a 12–0 lead, having relied on four field goals from kicker Jason Myers.

Seattle finally broke through for the game’s first touchdown early in the final quarter when veteran quarterback Sam Darnold connected with tight end AJ Barner.

New England responded with a touchdown pass from Drake Maye to Mack Hollins, briefly cutting into the deficit.

Momentum swung decisively moments later when Seahawks linebacker Uchenna Nwosu intercepted Maye and returned the ball for a touchdown, sealing the outcome with a decisive “pick-six” that extended Seattle’s lead to 29–7.

The Patriots added a late consolation score, but the result was no longer in doubt.

The victory marks the Seahawks’ second Super Bowl championship in franchise history and caps a season defined by defensive consistency and timely execution.

Bad Bunny Headlines Historic Halftime Show

The Super Bowl’s extended halftime show once again took center stage, with global superstar Bad Bunny delivering a performance rooted in Puerto Rican culture and Latin music.

Opening with his hit “Tití Me Preguntó,” Bad Bunny energized the crowd before paying tribute to reggaeton history with the iconic opening of Daddy Yankee’s “Gasolina.”

The performance featured surprise appearances by Lady Gaga, who delivered a salsa-inspired rendition of “Die With A Smile,” and Ricky Martin, who performed “Lo Que Le Pasó a Hawaii.”

Bad Bunny closed the show with a message displayed on screen: “The only thing stronger than hate is love.”

Trump Criticizes Halftime Performance

The halftime show sparked political and cultural debate in the United States. Supporters of former President Donald Trump and members of the MAGA movement had criticized the choice of Bad Bunny in advance, arguing that the Super Bowl should remain a unifying national event.

Trump echoed those views in a post on Truth Social, calling the halftime show “absolutely terrible” and “one of the worst ever.”

He criticized the Spanish-language performance and described it as failing to represent what he called “the Greatness of America.”

Despite the controversy, Super Bowl 2026 delivered a dominant on-field performance by the Seahawks and a halftime show that left a lasting cultural and political imprint on one of the world’s biggest sporting events.
