On Thursday, New Japan Pro Wrestling organized its most prestigious annual show, Wrestle Kingdom, in the iconic Tokyo Dome.

This year's edition was number 18, and it was the first after the appointment of the new NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi who reflected that he would continue his career as a pro wrestler, along with his office roles. Tanahashi faced ZSJ and captured the IWGP World TV title in an impressive technical contest against the best technical wrestler in the world.

Moreover, NJPW's star and the leader of the iconic Bullet Club David Finlay defeated NJPW/AEW star Jon Moxley, and the latest AEW men's signing Will Ospreay in a 3-way match to be the first ever IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion.

Okada managed to beat the American Dragon Bryan Danielson in the match of the generations.

NJPW legend Naito finished his story and captured his first win at the Wrestle Kingdom main event after long years of failure, he also captured the highest NJPW title, IWGP World Heavyweight after defeating his former LIJ mate SANADA in an iconic match.

The activities of the Wrestle Kingdom week were concluded on Friday with the NJPW New Year Dash.

During the event, a new KOPW was crowned, in addition, the iconic NJPW faction Chaos teamed up the iconic AEW's Blackpool Combat Club in a tag team match.

Will Ospreay announced that his final NJPW commitment for the current run will be at Battle in the Valley against Okada. 

Former WWE Superstar Matt Riddle confronted Tanahashi for a match for the TV title at Battle in the Valley.

Battle in the Valley will take place on January 13 in California.
