Get to know...'Hal Helalak' folk doll forum

‘Hal Helalak’ is the slogan of this year’s folk doll forum ( 20 April-3 May), the fifth, the annual event held under the auspices of Egypt's Ministry of Culture and the Cultural Development Fund in Cairo during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Tuesday, 20 April, marked the opening of the Hal Helalak Forum for Puppet Art and traditional Puppets performances in its Fifth Edition to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan

Furthermore,  the exhibition, which runs from 20 April to 3 May, is organized by Cairo Opera House in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and held in Al-Hanager Theatre on the Cairo Opera House premises.

Attending the opening was Minister of Culture Dr. Inas Abdel-Dayem as well as the renowned director of Egyptian theatre and head of the Cultural Production Affairs Sector Khaled Galal.

Meanwhile, the ceremony garnered much attention from families and children in this special edition.

The show stars maven director of "The Big Night Show" Ismail Mokhtar and Wael El-Fashny alongside some of the Artistic House for Folklore and Performing Arts stars and dancers.

The ceremony includes "The Big Night Show", Andalusian Muwashshah performance, and domestic puppet shows from Egyptian art.

It's worth mentioning that this ceremony is being held under strict safety measures to avoid the spread of the COVID-19 global pandemic.
