On Wednesday, the participants of the 2025 Arab Cup were completed, after the final four slots were secured through the tournament’s qualifying play-offs.
The Arab Cup will be held in Doha from 1 to 18 December.
The 2025 edition features 16 national teams. Nine teams earned direct qualification, while the remaining seven spots were determined through a qualifying play-off involving 14 teams.
The national teams of Palestine, Syria, and Kuwait secured qualification on Tuesday, followed by Sudan, Comoros, Oman, and Bahrain on Wednesday.
Despite being reduced to 10 players, Sudan completed the list of qualified teams after overturning a 1–0 deficit to achieve a dramatic 2–1 victory over Lebanon.
With this win, Sudan join Group D, which includes: Algeria (defending champions), Iraq, and Bahrain.
Bahrain had already booked their spot with a hard-fought 1–0 win over Djibouti.
Meanwhile, Comoros earned their qualification in a penalty shootout against Yemen, after an exciting 4–4 draw in regular time.
Comoros join Group B, alongside Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and Oman.
Similarly, Oman advanced to the Arab Cup after defeating Somalia on penalties, following a goalless draw.
