Sunday, June 23, contests saw a thrilling action, and a horrible injury. It witnessed the conclusion of the group stage for Group A.

Germany succeeded in keeping their Euro 2024 record loss-free after having a very late draw in 90+2 with Switzerland.

Switzerland were put ahead in the game after Dan Ndoye scored for his team in minute 28. But, Niclas Fullkrug saved his team in 90+2 by hitting the equalizer. 

This draw helped Switzerland to capture the second qualifying ticket for Group A to the knockouts with Germany. 

With this game, Manuel Neuer set a new record to be the top participating goalkeeper in the history of the tournament with 18 participations, breaking the record of Italy's Gianluigi Buffon.

Regarding the game between Hungary and Scotland. Hungary managed to defeat the Scottish Warriors 1-0 after Hungary's Kevin Csoboth scored a very late victory goal in 90+2 to end 90+ minute of goalless draw. 

However, the Hungarian faced a hard situation during the game as their striker Barnabas Varga was hard hit with Scotland's goalkeeper.

He is "stable" in hospital after being carried off on a stretcher after a mid-air clash with Scotland goalkeeper Angus Gunn.

Varga sustained a fractured cheek bone will have an operation, according to Hungary manager Marco Rossi.

He told BBC Sport: "Varga is okay," "Unfortunately he will be operated on because he suffered a fracture. We will see [what happens]. If we progress in the tournament for sure he will not be with us."

Hungary kept their hopes to capture a seat in the knockouts, while Scotland officially were eliminated.
