Day 19 of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup on Saturday, July 5 delivered European heavyweight showdowns, as PSG stunned Bayern Munich and Real Madrid edged past Borussia Dortmund to book their places in the semi-finals.

Paris Saint‑Germain 2–0 Bayern Munich

PSG secured a hard-fought 2–0 win over Bayern Munich at the Mercedes‑Benz Stadium in Atlanta, overcoming adversity and maintaining composure when it mattered most. After a scoreless first half, Désiré Doué broke the deadlock in the 78th minute with a clean strike, giving the French Champions League winners the lead.

Despite ending the match with just nine men due to two late red cards, PSG held firm. Ousmane Dembélé added insurance deep into stoppage time with a composed finish.

The win sets up a tantalizing semi-final clash against domestic rival Real Madrid.

Real Madrid 3–2 Borussia Dortmund

In East Rutherford, Real Madrid triumphed 3–2 in an electrifying match at MetLife Stadium. The Spanish giants took control with early goals from Gonzalo García in the 9th minute and Fran García in the 20th, both capitalizing on excellent service—Arda Güler with the first, and Trent Alexander‑Arnold delivering the second.

Dortmund mounted a dramatic late comeback with Maximilian Beier pulling one back in the 92nd minute, but substitute Kylian Mbappé restored Madrid’s two‑goal cushion just a minute later with a stunning kick.

Dortmund earned a penalty in the 98th minute, which Serhou Guirassy converted, and saw Madrid hit the woodwork with the final action—though goalkeeper Courtois made a crucial fingertip save on a late Bayern effort.

Defender Dean Huijsen was controversially sent off in stoppage time, ruling him out of the upcoming semis.

With both European giants through, a blockbuster PSG vs. Real Madrid semi-final is now set for midweek—an all‑Spanish blockbuster with continental pride and a shot at the final at stake.
