German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock emphasized the need for caution and responsibility in the Middle East during her recent talks in Israel with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials. "Everyone must now act prudently and responsibly," Baerbock stated before departing Israel on Wednesday for a Group of Seven (G7) meeting where Iran sanctions were on the agenda. She underscored the importance of preventing the region from descending into a situation with unpredictable outcomes.
Baerbock highlighted the detrimental effects such instability would have, stressing that it would not serve the interests of Israel's security, the hostages held by Hamas, the suffering population of Gaza, or the people in Iran enduring hardships under the regime. She also noted the desire of neighboring countries to live in peace.
