German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock emphasized the need for caution and responsibility in the Middle East during her recent talks in Israel with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials. Baerbock, who was on her seventh visit to Israel since the Hamas attack on October 7th, expressed concerns over the escalating tensions following Iran's recent assault on Israel.

"Everyone must now act prudently and responsibly," Baerbock stated before departing Israel on Wednesday for a Group of Seven (G7) meeting where Iran sanctions were on the agenda. She underscored the importance of preventing the region from descending into a situation with unpredictable outcomes.

Baerbock highlighted the detrimental effects such instability would have, stressing that it would not serve the interests of Israel's security, the hostages held by Hamas, the suffering population of Gaza, or the people in Iran enduring hardships under the regime. She also noted the desire of neighboring countries to live in peace.

Her visit aimed at aiding efforts to de-escalate tensions between Israel and Iran, particularly following the recent attacks. Baerbock's message echoed the sentiments of many international leaders calling for diplomatic solutions and measures to prevent further conflict in the volatile region.
