Health authorities in Germany announced on Tuesday that they are suspending using AstraZeneca vaccine once again for those who are under 60 years old after reporting new nine deaths of the vaccine.
The German authorities indicated that they receive new data of the presence of blood clots in adults who received the vaccine lately.
A total of 31 reports expressed that many vaccinated residents faced rare blood clots. The data was received on March 29, a few days after using the vaccine after its first term of suspension.
The examined cases included nine deaths two of them were for women aged between 20 to 63.
The country’s medical regulator said it had received a total of 31 reports of rare blood clots in recent recipients of the AstraZeneca vaccine by March 29. Nine of the people died and all but two of the cases involved women aged 20 to 63, the Paul Ehrlich Institute said.
AstraZeneca is facing a new term of suspension once again in various countries although the confirmation of the vaccine’s safety and effectiveness by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) early this month.
