Germany is set to provide Ukraine with six additional IRIS-T air defense systems and nearly 50 guided missiles for the systems, the German Defense Ministry announced.

This delivery, planned for 2025, will enhance Ukraine's defense capabilities.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius confirmed the new shipment during the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting in Ramstein, revealing that the missiles, originally intended for the Bundeswehr, would now be supplied to Ukraine ahead of replenishing German stockpiles.

In addition to the missile delivery, Germany will deploy two Patriot air defense systems and 200 soldiers to Poland in the coming weeks, aiming to secure a logistics hub critical for Ukraine’s supply lines over the next six months.

As the second-largest military supplier to Ukraine after the United States, Germany has committed approximately 28 billion euros in defense aid to Ukraine.

For 2025, the country has proposed an additional 4 billion euros in military support, pending approval from the Bundestag.
