German Foreign Minister (FM) Annalena Baerbock announced on Monday that Berlin will provide €300 million in new aid to Syria through the United Nations and selected organizations.

Speaking ahead of the Brussels Donors' Conference, Baerbock stated that more than half of the funds will be allocated to the Syrian people, covering food, healthcare services, shelters, and protective measures for particularly vulnerable groups.

She also emphasized that Syrian refugees and host communities in Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, and Turkey will receive support, reaffirming the need for a comprehensive political process to secure a peaceful future for Syria.

"We Europeans stand together for the Syrian people and for a free and peaceful Syria," Baerbock stated, calling on the Syrian government to investigate the killing of hundreds of civilians in coastal villages and to hold those responsible accountable.
