German Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck said that Israel has already crossed the line in the Gaza Strip and must adhere to international law.
The German Vice Chancellor accused Israel of violating international law by continuing its attack on the city of Rafah, according to the European magazine Politico.
Habeck's statements represent a shift in the rhetoric of senior German government officials, who had previously warned Israel against attacking Rafah but were hesitant to make such direct accusations.
Habeck said, "The starvation and suffering of the Palestinian population and the attacks on the Gaza Strip are contrary to international law. In other words, Israel has already crossed the line there and should not do so."
