On Thursday, Germany detected the first case infected by the newly-discovered COVID-19 strain in Württemberg.

Bild newspaper said that the woman who was infected by the virus visited the UK on 20 December, moreover she is spending her isolation period at her home.

On her behalf, the patient's spokesperson indicated that she traveled to London through Frankfurt; she had gone to visit some of her relatives.

But, COVID-19 tests were carried out on all passengers and she tested positive.

British Health Minister Matthew Hancock announced last week that “a new strain of Coronavirus has been identified in the country that is spreading faster than the original form.”

He said that the new strain is spreading from person to person easier than its predecessor, and therefore it is more infectious.”
