Germany produced an impressive display on Sunday evening, defeating Finland 4-0 in an international friendly as the four-time world champions continued their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.
The hosts took control of the match through a dominant attacking performance, with Deniz Undav scoring twice in the 33rd and 56th minutes. Florian Wirtz added Germany’s second goal shortly after halftime in the 47th minute, while Jamal Musiala completed the scoring with a strike in the 62nd minute.
Head coach Julian Nagelsmann fielded a strong lineup featuring goalkeeper Oliver Baumann behind a defense of Braun, Nico Schlotterbeck, Jonathan Tah, and Joshua Kimmich. Musiala and Wirtz once again played key roles in Germany’s creative midfield, while Undav led the attack effectively.
Germany have been drawn into Group E at the 2026 World Cup alongside Ivory Coast, Ecuador, and Curaçao, with Curaçao set to make its first-ever appearance at the tournament.
The German squad will now travel to Chicago for their final warm-up match against United States on June 6. Germany will then begin their World Cup campaign against Curaçao in Houston on June 14, before facing Ivory Coast in Toronto on June 20 and Ecuador in East Rutherford on June 25.
