Germany has issued an urgent call for its citizens to leave Lebanon immediately, citing the escalating violence between Israel and Hezbollah.

Since the outbreak of the Gaza conflict on October 7, Israel and Hezbollah have exchanged cross-border fire almost daily.

The intensity of these skirmishes has increased in recent days, raising concerns about further escalation.

On Wednesday, the German Foreign Ministry updated its travel advisory for Lebanon, urging German nationals to depart the country without delay.

The advisory emphasized that the current high tensions at the border with Israel could escalate at any moment.

The ministry also highlighted an increased risk of terrorist attacks in Lebanon, which could potentially target Westerners or large hotels.

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock warned on Tuesday that any miscalculation could ignite a full-scale war between Israel and Hezbollah, calling for maximum restraint amid the heightened tensions.

Baerbock stated on social media platform X that with every rocket crossing the blue line between Lebanon and Israel, the risk of a misjudgment leading to war increases.
