GUC Participates in World's Largest Programming Competition

Students of the Faculty of Media Engineering and Technology at the German University in Cairo (GUC) participated in an international coding competition organized by the Austrian company "Catalysts GmbH", one of the largest European software competitions. The event is held twice a year during the spring and autumn semesters.

The competition gathers programming specialists from all over the world who will compete through their computer devices from their normal places like the GUC in an exact scheduled time to be decided. The length of the competition is four hours.

This was stated by Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Salim Abdel-Nazer, and the general supervisor of the participating teams at the university, pointing out that the competition comes in the form of finding innovative solutions to the complexity of the competitors to highlight the best solutions by announcing the name of the winning teams. Inpidual or within a team (maximum 3 members).

Engineering and Media Students

Abdel-Nazer added that the aim of holding this competition periodically is to encourage and motivate more professional talents to enrich this technical field.

The Middle East region, where two teams from the university reached the sixth stage of the competition, was attended by a large number of countries including Amsterdam, Barcelona, Madrid and Linz, Salzburg, Frankfurt, Tehran.
