German Ambassador Hails 'Special' Ties Btw Cairo, Berlin

Cyrill Nunn, German ambassador to Egypt said on Sunday that Egyptian-German ties are 'special and very close,' and based on important pillars, including education, higher education, and language.

 

In press statements, Nunn stressed that the German government is seeking to teach the German language in Egypt, whether at schools or other educational institutions.

 

"Egypt is a key partner in the region," he said, noting that Egypt is currently playing a significant role in Africa.

 

The German ambassador also added that Cairo and Berlin are always discussing issues of common interests including crises in Gaza and Libya.

 

Moreover, he also praised distinguished and strong relations between President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
