Generous Ramadan, Happy Returns. Next Monday will mark the first day of the holy month of Ramadan, I hope that we start a new page in our Ramadan customs, so that it won't be a month for eating and watching series and soap operas, but a month for work, doing good, loving people and maintaining family ties, I hope that it will be a month of worship, a month of fasting, praying and begging for God's mercy and forgiveness.

What is nice this year is that the holy month of Ramadan coincides with the fasting of the Christian citizens so that we can all experience a beautiful spiritual symphony, in a blessed month. The Muslims and the Christians are fasting, and praying to God to preserve their country and protect their homeland. We celebrate fasting together in one day, Monday.

The month of mercy and benevolence begins while Mawaid el-Rahman, or charity iftars, are spread in every street, a phenomenon that only appears in Egypt. One of the great scenes is when young people and children spread out in the roads, streets, and traffic lights to offer water, juice, and dates for those who are passing by to break their fast.

Oh God, protect my country, the country of solidarity, compassion and love of goodness. Ramadan bags and boxes were distributed to the most needy families. I expected that the number of bags this year could be affected by the economic situation and the high prices, but the good people were more generous so the numbers of beneficiaries increased and the amount of materials being distributed increased, in a wonderful and joyful way of solidarity. I hope it continues throughout the year.

With the beginning of the holy month; I pray to God to accept our fasting, have mercy on us, forgive us, bless our deeds, increase our livelihood, remove our worries, and have mercy on our people in Palestine and grant them victory over the enemies. Oh God, make me among the happy ones who rejoice the acceptance of their deeds, fasting, and prayers.

Oh God, in your great month, bless us and make us among those who fulfill the needs of the people.. Oh God, help every needy person, and every deprived person until he finds what he is deprived of.

Oh God grant us the bounty of Laylat al-Qadr, and make us among those who fast properly, without hypocrisy, or laziness. Oh God, open the doors of your mercy to every beggar and every needy one, and suffice us with Your lawful against Your prohibited.
