Generation Foot Defeat Zamalek 2-1

Senegalese champions Generation foot defeated Zamalek 2-1, as the White Knights now need to rebound back home at Cairo or they will risk exited the CAF Champions League from the 32 knockout stages.

Zamalek started the match strong but failed to make a lasting impression as the field and weather conditions greatly affected the players. The only goal of the half was scored after Lemoly penetrated though the Zamalek defenses, placing the ball on the far right corner of Abo Gabal’s goal.

The White giants were on their way to conceive a second goal after Tarek Hamed failed to clear the ball from the Zamalek goal, which rebounded into the far left corner from the outside net.

Zamalek trainer Micho opened the second half with two substitutions as Khaled Bou Tayeb and Mustafa Mohamed joined the match, while Mohamed Antar and Omar Saeed exited.

Lima Molay successfully scored the second goal for Generation foot in the 68th minute after making use of another defensive error which caused him to be one on one with the goalkeeper.

Mustafa Mohamed scored the only goal for his team in the 74th minute after making use of a corner, placing it into the net of the Senegalese club.
