G1 CLIMAX 33- Night 17: Semi-Finals Set for Tournament

On Thursday, the semi-finals of the NJPW G1 Climax 33 are official after the four quarter-final matches were concluded.

In of the biggest surprises in the tournament, IWGP World Heavyweight Champion SANADA was eliminated by his former tag team partner EVIL. 

EVIL will earn a shot at the IWGP World Heavyweight title after pinning SANADA.

EVIL will meet Kazuchika Okada in the semi-finals, after the Rainmaker's win over Zack Sabre Jr.

Bullet Club's David Finlay was defeated by Will Ospreay.

In the same context, it seems that Ospreay and Finlay will meet for the IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion.

Ospreay will face Tetsuya Naito in the semi-finals in a rematch from the 2022 G1 Climax. Naito was able to defeat Hikuleo in his own quarter-final match.

Regarding the results of Night 17, they are as follows:

6 Man Tag Team Match: Los Ingobernables de Japon (Shingo Takagi, Hiromu Takahashi & Yota Tsuji) defeated TMDK (Mikey Nicholls, Shane Haste & Kosei Fujita).

8 Man Tag Team Match: Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa, El Phantasmo & Shota Umino defeated Minoru Suzuki, Ren Narita, El Desperado & Hiroyoshi Tenzan.

8 Man Tag Team Match: BULLET CLUB (KENTA, Gabe Kidd, Alex Coughlin & Chase Owens) defeated Just Five Guys (TAKA Michinoku, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, Taichi & DOUKI).

6 Man Tag Team Match: Eddie Kingston, Hiroshi Tanahashi & Tomohiro Ishii defeated The United Empire (Jeff Cobb, The Great-O-Khan & HENARE).

G1 CLIMAX 33 Quarter Final Match: Tetsuya Naito defeated Hikuleo to advance to the Semi Finals.

G1 CLIMAX 33 Quarter Final Match: Will Ospreay defeated David Finlay to advance to the Semi Finals.

G1 CLIMAX 33 Quarter Final Match: EVIL defeated SANADA.

G1 CLIMAX 33 Quarter Final Match: Kazuchika Okada defeated Zack Sabre Jr.
