GUC Holds 1st Int’nal Conference on Designing Smart Cities

The designing and the building of the smart cities is the new concern of the German University in Cairo (GUC) along with the East Carolina University.

A number of professors and experts in the civil and information engineering, architecture and project management fields meet in an educational conference to teach and present their scientific researches and experiences.

Many countries participated in the conference such as Germany, the United States of America, England, China, Australia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan and South Africa.

Dr. Ibrahim ElDemery, a member of the GUC’s board of trustees and the conference’s president announced that the first international conference for designing and building smart cities will be held on the GUC’s campus under the supervision of Dr. Ashraf Mansour, the chairman of the GUC’s board of trustees.

The event will continue for three days from Tuesday the 17th to Thursday the 19th of December, 2019.

Dr. El-Demery pointed to the fact that the conference will be specifically focused on the designing and building of smart cities; the different project management ways and the smart transportation seeing as one of the smart city’s distinguishable characteristics is being efficient in using energy.

The conference includes a number of important lectures and workshops to discuss the challenges facing the designing and building, as well as the cities and how to overcome them.

Also some leading companies are participating in the conference’s events.

The graduation projects of the civil and information engineering departments as well as the architecture department will be presented in a special exhibition during the conference’s events.

Also, the implementation steps of the “Howeyat Misr” Project that the GUC is working on with the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces will be presented and explained in the conference.
