FRMF Calls upon CAF to Hold One-Minute Silence for Death of Moroccan Boy

The FRMF called upon the CAF to hold one-minute silence ahead of the AFCON final.

Egypt will be clashing against Senegal in the final match of the Africa Cup of Nations.

According to ElBotolaa, The football's governing body in Morocco called CAF to hold one-minute silence over the death of Rayan Oram, the five-year-old Moroccan boy whose body was recovered from a well on Saturday, and whose plight had moved his country and the world.

News of Rayan’s death following a massive, four-day rescue operation, pitched Morocco into deep grief and prompted condolences from around the globe.

I learned with great sadness and sorrow the news of the death, after days of suffering, and the hope of finding him alive,” Morocco’s prime minister, Aziz Akhannouch, said.

 

“I present on behalf of all members of the government and on my behalf, my most sincere condolences and my sympathy and compassion to the parents of the child, Rayan.”

 

The French president, Emmanuel Macron, said: “I want to say to the family of little Rayan and to the Moroccan people that we share your pain
