The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) had the honor of receiving President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and French President Emmanuel Macron during field visit to the ERC’s Main logistics center in Arish. The visit took place as part of President Macron’s official trip to the city, during which he praised Egypt’s vital role in facilitating humanitarian and relief aid to the Gaza Strip.

Provided Dr. Amal Emam, CEO of the Egyptian Red Crescent, a comprehensive briefing to the French President on the ERC’s operational framework for receiving local and international aid, and it incloding the outlined of inspection, sorting, and coding processes, as well as the mechanisms for transferring aid into Gaza for handover to the Palestinian side.

She has also presented the ERC’s QR code system used to register detailed information about shipments and their contents, The system includes truck tracking capabilities that monitor the entire aid route from arrival at Egyptian airports and seaports, through sorting and preparation, to final delivery in Gaza.

Emam stressed that the logistics hubs were established specifically to support Gaza, enabling the ERC to manage and absorb high volumes of humanitarian assistance. These centers play a crucial role in packaging, classifying, and coding aid in line with internationally recognized standards, and in coordinating the dispatch of aid convoys across border crossings.

Noted also that aid arrives in Arish through three main routes: air, sea, and land.

Emam highlighted the scale of the humanitarian effort, with 1,500 volunteers working daily in Arish, and an additional 1,000 volunteers stationed across logistics hubs in governorates, airports, seaports, and operations rooms. These efforts are carried out in coordination with the Egyptian civil society organizations, national partners, and international agencies, as ERC serves as Egypt’s national coordination mechanism for humanitarian assistance.
