The French economy grew by a better-than-expected 0.3% in the second quarter, the National Statistics Institute said Tuesday.
The quarter-on-quarter growth beat the institute’s previous estimate of 0.1%, driven by foreign trade and a recovery in business investment.
Domestic demand contributed to the growth to some extent, while household spending, a key driver of growth in the first quarter, remained flat in the three months to June.
The institute also revised its first-quarter growth estimate to 0.3% from a previous 0.2%.
