The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called on Israel to withdraw from the occupied Golan Heights and respect Syria's territorial integrity.
This statement, issued in response to inquiries about Israel’s recent incursions into Syrian territory, reaffirms France's commitment to international law and stability in the region.
France emphasized that any deployment of forces in the demilitarized zone between Israel and Syria constitutes a violation of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
The ministry urged Israel to fully comply with this agreement and voiced its support for the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF), which monitors the ceasefire in the Golan Heights.
Additionally, the ministry underlined the need to ensure the safety and security of UN peacekeeping personnel operating in the area.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also expressed concerns about Israel's military activities in the Golan Heights, which it said are exacerbating tensions in the region.
