The French Foreign Affairs Ministry on Monday withdrew its advice to citizens against going to Belarus due to the Russian military operation.
Paris “strongly” advised its citizens against travelling to Belarus and again encouraged those in the country to leave.
In an updated advisory to French nationals, the foreign ministry pointed out that only one border crossing was available to travelers heading to Poland from Belarus.
It added that Belarus’ borders with Lithuania and Latvia were open.
Earlier in the day, the US told its citizens to leave Russia immediately due to the conflict in Ukraine and the risk of arbitrary arrest or harassment by Russian law enforcement agencies.
