France has announced it is prepared to evacuate its citizens from the Middle East “when conditions allow,” as regional tensions escalate following military strikes involving Israel, the United States, and Iran.
Government spokesperson Maud Bregeon said Sunday that Paris stands ready to organize evacuation operations for French nationals who wish to leave affected areas once the security situation permits.
The statement comes amid intensifying hostilities after Israel and the United States launched strikes against Iran, prompting retaliatory attacks by Tehran targeting Israeli territory and several Gulf countries.
French authorities have been closely monitoring developments as the security environment across parts of the Middle East remains volatile. Officials have not specified which countries could be included in potential evacuation plans but emphasized that preparations are in place should the situation deteriorate further.
The announcement reflects growing concern among European governments about the safety of their citizens in the region as military exchanges continue and airspace closures disrupt travel routes.
