On Thursday, French Prime minister Jean Castex was in Tunisia, as the European country aims to boost its cooperation.

In a step intended to boost their cooperation, the two Mediterranean countries signed several agreements, and discussed crucial issues, such as the fight against terrorism, the stabilization of Libya and the Middle East but also illegal migration, the main concern of France, that has been on the top of the negotiations between the French authorities and several North African nations for decades.

During a joint press conference, French Prime Minister Jean Castex said: "In this context, I recalled the need, for France as well as for its European partners, to strengthen cooperation with Tunisia in the area of migration and in particular the indispensable control of irregular migration flows."
