France Celebrates Egypt, Its Soft Power in Corsica Music Festival

In the framework of the celebrations of Egypt - France Year , continuing till the end of 2019, Dr. Inas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, Ambassador Ihab Badawi, Egypt's Ambassador in Paris and her Permanent Representative to UNESCO and Dr. Niveen Khaled, Egyptian Cultural Counselor in France, inaugurated the opening ceremony of the 21st Edition of Corsica International Festival of Mediterranean Music in France.

The event coincided with the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the inauguration of Suez Canal. It is held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi President of Egypt.

The ceremony was animated by “Bras Sound Band" for rhythm, affiliated to the Egyptian Academy. Brass Band presented a mixture of international and Egyptian rhythmic compositions.

The audience's interaction reflected the Band's skill, conveyed a civilized image and painted one of the features of contemporary Egyptian creativity.

The band received all the appreciation from the public, critics and the media channels.

The minister of culture stressed that the reciprocal events in” Egypt - France Year Celebrations” play an important role in demonstrating the ability of the Egyptian soft power to support and consolidate relations between nations as an effective tool for communication.

She pointed out that Egypt's participation as a guest of honor in this festival reflects Egypt's cultural and historical soft power, highlighting the regional and international leadership.

On his part, Ambassador Ehab Badawi praised the Egyptian presence in international forums in general and expressed his happiness for the successful participation in Corsica International Festival of Mediterranean Music.

He noted that the mutual activities, that took place during Egypt-France year, achieved its goals of transferring the intellectual and artistic movement in the two communities.

The activities represented channels of communication between creators; they promote the rapprochement between the two peoples
