France expressed its deep concern over the deterioration of the situation in the Palestinian territories following recent Israeli actions, the spokesman for the French Foreign Ministry said on Friday.
Christophe Lemoine said that the Israeli attacks that repeatedly targeted schools or shelters for displaced persons in the Gaza Strip have resulted in an "unacceptable" number of civilian casualties, stressing that France recalls that Israel must respect international humanitarian law.
In this regard, Lemoine stressed that attacks targeting humanitarian workers or UN staff are "unacceptable." France also renewed its call for the release of all "prisoners" without condition or delay, and for an immediate ceasefire in the face of the urgent humanitarian situation in Gaza.
He stressed the importance of ensuring immediate, safe and unhindered access for humanitarian aid through all possible means.
In Jerusalem, France condemned all actions that violate the status quo in the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. France also condemns the irresponsible statements made by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.
