Former Zamalek head coach Christian Gross has been announced as the new manager for Bundesliga side Schalke 04.
Swiss coach Gross had announced his retirement from management, bringing his 32-year career to an end back in May 2020.
He was reappointed by Saudi Professional League, Al Ahli Jeddah, back in October after parting ways with Zamalek.
The 66-year-old led Zamalek to the CAF Confederation Cup title in 2019, before seeing his contract runs out, with the club losing the league title to Al Ahly after his departure.
Gross was then linked with a vacant manager position of Schalke 04 to become the club’s fourth manager this season.
The club started the season with David Wagner as manager, before he was replaced by Manuel Baum, who was sacked just last week.
