Ehud Olmert, former Israeli PM has obliged to cancel  a scheduled visit to Switzerland fearing of being arrested there for committing war crimes against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The Hebrew Channel 12 News said that Olmert, who planned to fly to Switzerland,  was informed to cancel his journey lest he would be arrested for committing war crimes.

He was enforced to cancel his  journey as the Israeli ministries of Justice and Interior had received reports of the Swiss authorities that Olmert would be taken to custody to be interrogated of accusations of war crimes when he served as the Prime Minister of Israel.

It is worth to mention that Olmert served as the Premier of Israel between 2006 -2009.

Israel attacked the Gaza Strip in 2008 and 2009.

More than 1400 Palestinians were killed in the course of three consecutive weeks.

He was forcedto resign for charges of corruption.

He served the period from Feb. 2016 through July 2017  at prison.
