Former Editor-In-Chief of Al Akhbar Al Masai “Adel Kandeel” Passes Away

Former editor-in-chief of Al-Akhbar Al-Masa’i "Adel Kandeel"  passed away Monday, aged 67,  after a long journey in the field of Journalism.

Qandil had a well-earned reputation for holding powerful investigative journalism, especially in politics.

He was artful and fearless and knew how to push a story forward to its limits. He always chased an unwilling interviewee, and always spoken truth to power.

The former editor-in-chief tried to make a difference, especially when it came to helping young journalist pursue their carriers.

His reporting on the Egyptian elections after the 2011 revolution had significant impact on the political scene, which helped prompt change.

Kandeel did not leave our world without leaving all his admirers with a the talented young journalist "Ahmed Adel Kandeel", who is expected to be one of the most prominent journalists in Egypt.
