Forbes, a US weekly magazine reported that the US B-1B Lancer bombers are currently training for a new mission, which is to destroy the ships of the Russian fleets in the Baltic and Black Seas.

"Two B-1s can fire 48 LRASM  air-to-surface, long-range anti-ship missiles at the Russian Baltic Fleet.

“This may be enough to sink the entire fleet at once and eliminate the main threat to US and allied ships in the region," the magazine says.

In addition, the magazine notes that these long-range bombers will be able to fire at Russian ships anywhere in the Black Sea from North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) airspace.

It is noteworthy that the "B-1 Lancer" is an American hypersonic strategic bomber with a variable wing, capable of carrying out complex tasks, such as launching two types of cruise missiles from a safe distance.

On the other hand, Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, announced yesterday, Wednesday,  that Russia is concerned about the United States' efforts to deploy short and medium-range missiles in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

Lavrov said at a press conference held on Wednesday after talks with his South Korean counterpart, Jeong Ei-yong, that the issue of America's possible deployment of short and medium-range missiles at land bases in the Republic of South Korea was not discussed in today's talks.

"And that is for the reason that we know very well the principled negative stance of the South Korean president and government on such a publication," he added.

Russia FM  explained: "If we talk about other countries and regions, we are concerned about the efforts announced by the United States to deploy missile systems that were prohibited by the Treaty on Short and Intermediate-Range Missiles, not only in Europe but also in the Asia-Pacific region."

He pointed out that Russia confirms the proposal made by Russian President Vladimir Putin two years ago to the United States and other NATO members regarding declaring a parallel moratorium on the deployment of such missiles around the world.
