Mustafa Wael, a second-year student at the Faculty of Architecture at Galala National University, obtained an international certificate specializing in green buildings (LEED GA), in a first for him as the youngest student to obtain this certificate in Egypt and the Middle East, and one of the youngest to obtain this certificate in the world.
LEED Green Associate certification, offered by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), is the first of two levels of professional green building accreditation. Recipients of this certification are familiar with green building practices and standards related to the design, construction, use and maintenance of buildings.
It is worth noting that the projects that obtain this certificate contribute to conserving energy and water, and use environmentally friendly materials, which makes them sustainable and green.
