The headline reports that Cairo is hosting the 53rd International Conference on Nematology for the first time. The conference is likely to bring together experts and researchers in nematology, which is the study of nematodes, or roundworms, and their impact on plants, animals, and humans.
Cairo hosts, under the auspices of Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Al-Sayed El-Quseir, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the 53rd International Conference on Nematology.
Fahim Qurrah, the conference chair and president of the Nematology Society in Tropical America, said that the conference discusses all that is new in the field of nematode pests, as well as new methods of control, identification, and damage assessment.
The conference also covers new developments in this field regarding harmful and beneficial nematode species for all agricultural crops, as well as their use in insect control.
Qurrah added that the 53rd International Conference on Nematology of the Nematology Society in Tropical America is being held for the first time outside the Americas and Europe, and for the first time in Egypt, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
The conference will take place from September 24-29, 2023, with the participation of a selection of distinguished professors and scientists in nematology from all over the world, who will participate for the first time in Egypt.
The conference includes 16 discussion sessions and a field day, with the participation of global agricultural and chemical companies from inside and outside Egypt to showcase their products and what is new in this field.
